I have five questions regarding your financial health.
1. Do you have a will to distribute your asset to your loved ones according to your wishes?
2. Do you have life insurance coverage of at least 10 times your annual income?
3. If you were to lose your job now, do you have enough savings to provide at least six months of your monthly expenses?
4. Have you started building your retirement fund of at least 10 times your annual income?
5. Do you have critical illness insurance coverage of at least 2 times your annual income?
Just as you would take good care of your physical health, you should also boost you financial well-being with regular checks.
Have you answered above questions? Your answer has more "Yes" than "No" ?
For your info, if you response those questions on the online pool that i put its link here, you could have a chance to win $8,888, $3,888, $1,888 or $888 cash!
It is the Nationwide Financial Health Check Poll that is conducted by American International Assurance Company, Limited (“AIA”) and Singapore Press Holdings (“SPH”). The pool period shall be from 9 October 2006 to 3 December 2006.
Their mission is to create a greater awareness on the importance of good financial health and to encourage people in Singapore to take better charge of their financial wellbeing.
Sounds good. But, I am not sure if soon after this pool over, their Financial Consultants will contact you to offer their financial services. Anyway, it is not an obligation. Take the chance, I wish you could win the cash prize.
If you win, don't forget to treat me. Good luck!
Press thumb to pay at Kopitiam.
There is a wide variety of stored value facilities available in Singapore today. Kopitiam Group is rolling out a new pre-paid instrument, a biometric system of payment at its food courts. How does it work? We simply just scan our thumb print to make a payment. Of course, we need to sign up to register our thumb print and top up some cash value at Kopitiam card retail counter.
It is a brilliant idea for the sake of great convenience. We do not need to carry another card, just use our finger. However, if you think twice, what are the implications of using this system for us, as customer?
The news said "Patrons concerned about privacy and security issues related to the scanning of their thumbprint can use any of their fingers instead.".
In US, there is a news regarding privacy and security concerns on fingerprint payments. Here is the link, http://www.securityfocus.com/news/11339
Nevertheless, thumbs up to this technology for its benefit to public.

Good Deal: SBS Transit's Season Pass
SBS Transit offers a season pass that is similar like the bus stamps scheme that students uses for unlimited bus travel.
The stamp price is for $98 a month.
Commuters will save cost to travel on SBS Transit buses if they need to transfer buses regularly and spend more than $3.30 a day on SBS Transit Buses. Particularly, for workers staying far and always use bus transportation, SeasonPass will help them save some money by capping their monthly transport expenses at $98 a month. Furthermore, this year's fare increase effective from 1 October 2006 will not affect them at all.

Digital Opportunities
What one of philosophy that Kiasu people has ?
Everything has to be free !
Tuesday evening while launching the Wireless@SG initiative, Singapore Government just announced their plan, Two Years of Public Wireless Internet Access. From January 2007, we just need a laptop, pda or mobile phone that can detect Wireless Fidelity (WiFi).
For initial stage, this free internet connection will cover "high-traffic" public areas, such as HDB town centres, Central Business District and Orchard Road.
"We must create digital opportunities for all Singaporeans, and never allow a digital divide in our society," Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong told the audience.
What is the keyword ? Yes, Opportunity.
Kiasu person MUST grab these digital opportunities. As we move forward in the digital age, we must benefit from technology.
Opportunities are more than free internet calls, chatting with friends, or even reading e-mail. Making money on intenet is the opportunity.
How to make money? Tons of information are available on internet. As a good kiasu person, we MUST make use of what we learnt and get in the game. Knowledge without action is a waste.

Kiasu (Kee-Ah-Soo)
Kiasu (Kee-Ah-Soo). In Singapore, Hokkien is the largest dialect group. "Kiasu" is an Hokkien adjective means 'fear of losing'. It is commonly known among Singaporeans and Malaysians.
Most people uses this word to relate with some attitude that people do, it means they will do whatever it takes in order NOT to lose out in highly competitive situations or society.
Growing up with this attitude, these people often become hardworker and ambitious business people, with the desire to be on top in wealth and prestige.
Such an attitude is often highly competitive, and its emphasis is to be above all other people, even if it means putting others. But to be kiasu is not only to be competitive. Kiasu people are driven out of fear of losing probably more than the desire to succeed.
All the post here will focus in the positive attitude driven by being kiasu, the desire to succeed.
