Tuesday evening while launching the Wireless@SG initiative, Singapore Government just announced their plan, Two Years of Public Wireless Internet Access. From January 2007, we just need a laptop, pda or mobile phone that can detect Wireless Fidelity (WiFi).
For initial stage, this free internet connection will cover "high-traffic" public areas, such as HDB town centres, Central Business District and Orchard Road.
"We must create digital opportunities for all Singaporeans, and never allow a digital divide in our society," Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong told the audience.
What is the keyword ? Yes, Opportunity.
Kiasu person MUST grab these digital opportunities. As we move forward in the digital age, we must benefit from technology.
Opportunities are more than free internet calls, chatting with friends, or even reading e-mail. Making money on intenet is the opportunity.
How to make money? Tons of information are available on internet. As a good kiasu person, we MUST make use of what we learnt and get in the game. Knowledge without action is a waste.
